All Hands on Deck - From Breast Cancer to Beloved Bust

Today's blog is the second part of my series, Three Ways to Reclaim your Body from Pain and Tightness. The first essential was to Know Your Body. It's one thing to feel attacked all the time from your lingering pain and tightness after breast cancer but to have the insight as to what is going on can not only ease some of that anxiety that begins to hang around but it will give you a starting point to self-treat and help your body heal.

This leads to the second essential, ALL HANDS ON DECK! We are going to start treating your body, your scars, and that straight-jacket of tightness. This is where you work on your body, release your scars, and soften that fascia. (AKA all that tightness that seems to get tighter and tighter every day.) Reclaim your body from that lingering pain and tightness after breast cancer!

You wanna start with your Beloved Guide to Scar Release which you might have downloaded from me and skimmed or even tried to work your scars for a week but Beloved, it's gonna take some time, as in more than a week. So dig around and get that guide out or click here to get your FREE guide to scar release here.

OK so, you got the guide and maybe you even started to get some relief or maybe you just don't seem to get to it or you or this recovery, reclaiming thing. It's one more thing on the to-do list that you can feel guilty about later. Mad cuz you still hurt and stuck and ...(pain cycle anyone?)

No worries, remember, I've got your back!

Three sneaky reasons you don't do your scar release and how to get back on the self-care wagon

  1. I MIGHT HURT MYSELF

I get it, you're not a therapist, but if you follow the all-important rule of this beautiful work, never force or go past your edge, you are golden. If it hurts then by all means lighten up. Soften your pressure or move above or below the area you're working. Let time do the work and melt that scar tissue and fascia! (What's fascia? Get the Guide:-) Let time do the work, connect and feel. Breathe and feel. Soften and know your body can heal.

  2. I DON'T WANT TO TOUCH MY SCARS

A lot is going on there and it isn't all tight scars. You don't like the way they look let alone the way they feel. Hard and foreign foobies that are numb and misshapen. Nice try Doc!

(It's ok...we can get you through the next phase of healing:-)

Besides, you're over it and you don't even want to think about breast cancer which is all you think about when you see your new body. If this is you...I get it and it's ok. Don't start right on your scar right on your skin.

What if you just place your hand on your chest? Flat, implants, lumpectomy...just place your hand on your chest and breathe. 2 - 5 minutes and notice how you feel. Notice your thoughts. Maybe whisper something sweet. loving, or get some swagger going with a "way to fight that cancer and heal, Body!" Start feeling ok with just holding, and then get back to your Beloved Guide to Scar Release:-)

And last but not least -

 3. I DON'T HAVE TIME

I know you're busy and you've got to get kids to school and get dressed and go to work and alllll the things but this, Beloved, is important. You are worth it and besides, you can sneak scar release in your day, easy peasy. Before you get out of bed, in the car at the stoplight on your way to work, while you're catching up on your show on Netflix, or ask your sweet partner to help. Yep, it's a beautiful way to reconnect.
